So the past few days have been nice. For the past several weeks, I’ve been extremely overwhelmed…so I finally took a day off yesterday to just hang out. More on that in a second…

This weekend, Crystal had a friend visiting for spring break. They met while at a shoot in Miami back in January and when she got back, she told me, “You have to shoot with this girl…you will love her!”

And she was right. :)

Her name is Jackie, and she is the sweetest, cutest gal from Delaware. We got to shoot all afternoon on Monday…and believe it or not, it was only her SECOND photo shoot ever. Her first shoot ever was for Hef, if you know what I mean. ;) But we had a blast shooting some fun, cute stuff that really showed off her fun-loving, adorable personality.

Yesterday, Crystal and I took Jackie ALL OVER San Diego. I decided I wouldn’t even THINK about work…so it was nice to spend the day with friends…and hot friends at that. ;)

We started the excursion with shopping in PB. We, of course, HAD to have Yogurtland…Jackie discovered it when Crystal took her earlier in the weekend…and it became her instant obsession. :) After lunch, I took them my favorite swimsuit shop, Gone Bananas…followed by a walk in Coronado. We followed everything up with a trip to the mall for some lingerie shopping. Tough, tough life I lead, I know. :)

Jackie and I were so tuckered out from the day, we sort of ditched out on the St. Patty’s day festivities and indulged in a lazy evening on the couch watching a movie…but not before hitting up Yogurtland AGAIN, when we discovered there was one in Mission Valley and that it was the only place open past 10…which honestly is pretty sad for Mission Valley.

It was sad to see her go…but she’s gonna be back in May for a party at the mansion, so we are gonna get our fro-yo and picture-taking on fo’ sho!

Anyway, here are a few shots from Tuesday. :)

I’m not gonna lie to you…Anna Faris is hella cute. Yeah, I said “hella.” She’s cute enough to make me want to watch The House Bunny. I’d say that’s pretty effing cute. :) Check out some video from her GQ Magazine photo shoot.

And it’s free.

And while we are on the subject of Twitter, Flor sent this little link to me that is effing hilarious…and sadly true. But I still LOL-ed. :)

Apple showed off it’s preview for the new version of iPhone’s OS, version 3.0, which is supposed to be coming out this summer.

Out of the 100 new features they announced, the top four are really the only ones I’ve been TOTALLY waiting for, as I’m sure many others have been too:

  • Search your iPhone
  • Cut, copy, and paste
  • Send photos, contacts, audio files, and location via MMS
  • Read and compose email and text messages in landscape

I’m SO excited I could do a little dance. :)

So as of late, as much as I hate to admit it, I’ve been REALLY bad at keeping track of stuff. We’re talking keeping on top of projects, remembering to email people back, forgetting meetings and even photo shoots. I’m glad that in those instances, the other parties forgot too or needed to reschedule. But had they not forgotten, I would have looked like a major ass. I’m not gonna lie. And that’s so not like me. I usually have it together. So I’ve decided that I’m going to be using my calendar more religiously. I just hooked up my Google Cal with my iPhone via Google Sync…so now any changes I make on my phone are reflected immediately in Google Cal and everything is synced over-the-air.

To keep on top of my to-dos, I’m going to start using my Remember The Milk account again. I stopped because I was being horrible at getting things done and didn’t want to deal with stupid lists…which is funny because I do love lists oh so very much. There is now an iPhone app for RTM…so no more web interface. It’s an actual app. All you need is a RTM pro account and seriously, if you love lists, why wouldn’t you have a pro account?? But I seriously got back into it just a little bit ago…cleaned everything out…added my new tasks to the list. And now my lists are longer than ever. LOL. But I felt so productive today, so I’m sure il blaze through these lists in no time. :)

I gotta keep it together…and with things being so crazy and hectic these days, I can’t afford not to be organized. :)

I also have a little notebook I carry around for jotting down ideas for shoots and other stuff, convos, etc. So valuable to have something you can write stuff down in. Pen and paper…who would have known?!

Anyway, I’m tired. It’s been a long, productive day. Looking forward to a great shoot today with Jackie, one of Crystal’s friends she met at the Playboy photo shoot in Miami, and then In and Out afterwards. ;)

More later!!

So I saw this funny video on Sarah Lane’s blog and I just had to share. So this dude, Ely Kim, recorded 100 days, 100 different songs, 100 locations, and 100 dances. This guy has got some moves…I’m a little jealous. BOOMBOX from Ely Kim on Vimeo.

Oh well.

So one of the things that has kept my February busy was photographing all my gals from Hooters. With my pal, Ennis, I frequent Hooters quite, uh, frequently. The food sucks, I’m not gonna lie. And the ambiance…well…I can see beautiful girls every day. The sports on TV…not really a selling point for me…well, except for baseball season, but even then I’d rather be at the park taking in the game. I think the reason I love going to Hooters is just all the friends I have working there. I’ve met some of the COOLEST ladies around, and they just happen to work there. And I got to shoot a lot of them this past month, so this is a tribute to all of those girls.

Let’s start with the downtown Hooters…

Then there was Theresa from Rancho Bernardo

And from Mission Valley…

And another Sarah…

There were a few other girls from Pacific Beach and MV…and even a gal from Colorado that I didn’t get to post…but mostly because they are on my other hard drive and I’m too lazy to get up and upload them. I know, I’m a tool. But then again, the title of this post speaks for itself. I still love you all, ladies. Even the Blue Steel moments…

Anyway, I just wanted to show a little love for my San Diego Hooters girls. Stop in and grab some wings, people. Tell them Aaron sent you. :)

So the past few weeks have been pretty crazy. I’ve been working a lot, trying to get bills paid, trying to get projects done and photos to clients. It’s been pretty insane. I did a group shoot yesterday and totally felt mojo-less because of the lack of sleep and creativity. It was pretty sad how things just suck the life out of you.

So needless to say, I REALLY needed today’s shoot. Funny how photo shoots can be stressful…but with the right person at the right location, it can be therapy.

I drove up to Laguna Beach and met Jackie this afternoon for a shoot. We were originally going to shoot in the studio today…but at the last minute, she suggested we do something outside. Best idea ever…I was so down for that. Only problem was I had forgotten to charge my portable generator last night, so I was forced to shoot all natural light today. But I like the challenge that shooting with natural light brings. Simple, bright, and natural. And Jackie is SUCH a sweetheart…sort of made me forget about the rest of the world. We had an awesome time together just chillin’ on the beach, taking pictures, talking, and enjoying a sunny California afternoon. It was just what I needed.

And we got some awesome shots too. :)

Seriously, my track record for lusting after ladies that can do stuff like sing and write songs, play guitar, and now…guest star on one of my favorite television shows…is definitely long standing. Taylor is truly an amazing gal. I wasn’t surprised a couple weeks ago when I heard her concert had sold out in minutes. And I’m super excited that she’s gonna be on CSI tonight.

And, she’s hot.

Anyway, I’m definitely checking out her small-screen debut…I know she’s gonna be pretty damn amazing.

Going through the archives, I realized I haven’t posted quite a bit…so I thought I would share some shots from a recent shoot.

Went over to Stephanie’s house a few weeks back and we did a late evening shoot at her new pad. Hard wood floors and a dark leather couch set the scene as she wore animal print lingerie and one of my neckties.

I just have to say I really enjoy people that push me artistically…I will be sharing a lot about that in the next few days and weeks as I have been really fortunate to have people that do that for me. As a photographer and an artist, you find yourself in a rut sometimes…shooting the same stuff because 1) it’s stuff people want you to shoot or 2) you find yourself feeling safe in your little niche and you are either too lazy or scared to venture out a little. But those people that challenge you to think outside your box, to shoot different styles than your used to or maybe different angles and methods of composition and lighting are so invaluable…and I really am so thankful for having people like that in my life. Otherwise, life would get boring…and I would never grow in my art.

The shoot with Stephanie made me think about lighting darker tones and darker clothing with a moodier feel…as well as working with the small space of her living room. The angles I used were definitely not my standard…but I think they lent a hand to the drama of the light as well as the outfits. Her makeup was a little more dramatic as well…and we got some cool shots on the couch as well as in her hallway, which again was a little challenging, but fun. We are gearing up for part two of our shoot, which definitely should be fun, so stay tuned…but in the meantime, check out these shots…
