Well, I am coming to you live from that little city in the desert…Las Vegas, Nevada. We came out on Saturday morning and spent the weekend here to shoot the wedding of Sarah Gates and Chad Lozier.

The trip out was good and short. We were chastised by some weirdo in Barstow, but we laughed at him and went on our way.

For me, the majority of the weekend was spent in bed, because for some inexplicable reason, I came down with something. I felt totally sick to my stomach and didn’t feel like doing anything but sleep. But sadly, even sleep required too much work. Brian and Flor brought me soup and medicine and while they went out a little bit and explored, I spent the entire Saturday night in bed curled up in a ball. Definitely a bummer, since I LOVE exploring Vegas.

It’s also a good thing photo shoots never solidified since I don’t think I would have been motivated to shoot anyway.

Sunday came and I was feeling slightly better, but still a little weak. But I got to the wedding and did my thing. Shots came out okay, but I still don’t feel I did great…mostly because I felt terrible. But I got some great shots anyway. My duet with Mary was okay too. If anything, I LOOKED fabulous in my suit…I’m not gonna lie. :)

It was good to see people I hadn’t seen in a while and schmooze. Definitely a good time, even though I got tired really quickly. We stayed for the whole reception, until they kicked us out…which is definitely a first for me. :) After the reception, we headed out to the strip, still decked out in our suits and Flor in her dress…and we hit up the Venetian shops and walked around. I think we got a lot of attention since we looked so classy. Flor and Brian shopped for wedding bands…at another store, the clerk showed Brian a $5000 cashmere coat. When we scoffed at the price, he showed us a $1700 one…like that made a difference. :)

We also went and bought a couple cigars at the Davidoff store. The gentleman at the store schooled us on the finer points of cigar smoking and proper etiquette. It was quite educational, and very classy.

I called it an early night and from what I remember, I think I went to bed pretty instantly. :) It’s now Monday morning and I’m getting ready to pack up and head out to lunch with some people from last night and then head home. It’s been an okay trip, but I definitely think I need to come out again soon to make up for all the sick time I missed.
