I had a great weekend. Lots of pictures were taken, which I have spent the better part of the evening sorting through. I am going to be heading home and heading to bed in a little bit, so I will have to recap the weekend tomorrow. But let me just tell you now that it was good. :)

I wanted to share with you all this HILARIOUS commercial I saw the other day. When it came on, I literally stopped what I was doing and laughed out loud. Not only is it funny, but it’s for Coldstone…which of course, is one of my weaknesses. Enjoy…and laugh.

I had a nice day off…

Had a little fact finding mission on my own today…drove up to Malibu for a photo shoot. I was a little late (like two hours…), but it wasn’t my fault, I swear. Anyway, the model was cool and the beach was breathtakingly cool. Lots of people out to celebrate the holiday. We shot at Point Dume after finding a parking spot and hiking the trail down to the water. Got some good shots…

After the shoot, I decided to take my time heading back south and enjoy the drive. My cool cousin, Tara, graduated from Pepperdine last year…and since I’ve never seen the campus, I took a quick detour and drove through campus. Pretty.

Last night, had an AWESOME time with Brian, Flor, and Michele. We went out to Deco’s to support the breast cancer 3-day fundraiser my friend Carrie was hosting. The turnout wasn’t as big as I expected…but it was still a good time.

More pictures here.

Flor forwarded this to me today… Now as a photographer, I believe in a little post-production. In the glamour-photography world, the pictures fresh out of the camera need a little sweetening to make them “pop”… But sometimes too much is too much. And sometimes, even the pros goof up: Maxim Magazine Sucks at Photoshop

I think you’ve acheived a culinary lowpoint when ramen and mac and cheese are too much of an effort.

Well, it’s been a few. Work, as always, is a downer and kicking my butt…and to make matters worse, I’ve been sort of sick the last several days with some mysterious sore throaty-ness. Well, it’s been a few. Work, as always, is a downer and kicking my butt…and to make matters worse, I’ve been sort of sick the last several days with some mysterious sore throaty-ness. Some seriously painful stuff. This wasn’t day-after-the-football-game sort of sore. This was like I can’t eat, sleep, or drink because it hurts to much. It might have been strep, but who knows…the doctor never called me. They shoved the giant q-tip down my throat…but I guess they didn’t find anything. Anyway, after several days of intense pain, I’m starting to feel a little better. I’m able to eat, so that’s a positive thing.

Low key weekend…although yesterday, I spent the majority of the day shooting a wedding. I honestly was sort of dreading it since I was feeling lousy…but after 8+ hours of shooting in the sun and a splitting headache, I had a renewed spirit and could have gone another 8 hours. Well, not really…but I felt pretty good at the end of the day. It just goes to show that when you do something you really enjoy, it doesn’t really matter how crappy you feel…it makes you feel good anyway.

It was a beautiful wedding and a beautiful couple. The wedding was on the beach in Coronado and the reception was a fun, festive gathering with loved ones. Definitely a good time and a great party. Here are a couple shots…

At the end of the day, during all the dancing and after the sun went down, we noticed a killer-cool moon over looking the city. The bride challenged me to shoot them in front of the beautiful background. I wasn’t sure if I could do it…but I met the challenge…

It wasn’t easy, let me tell you. :)

Anyway, should be a good week. Got some things going on for the 4th and a nice weekend to look forward to. Hope the non-fun things go by quickly.

Gotta get to sleep. Monday is here.

PS And let me also just say that for someone who still owns and uses a 2 megapixel Kodak Easyshare digital camera…my business partner did quite an awesome job as a second shooter at the wedding. Just gave him a dSLR and let him have at it. Dude, I’d shoot with you any day.
