When I woke up yesterday morning, I had no idea I would be packing up my camera gear and driving 2 hours to do a photo shoot…but that’s what I did.
In my pursuit of Fact Finding Missions, I decided to make the drive to Palm Desert to photograph a lovely model we’ll call Aimee. Mostly, because that’s her name. The photographer she was scheduled to work with cancelled on her at the last minute and she was basically all dressed up with no where to go. She’s a cosmotologist, so her hair and makeup were all done up perfectly and her wardrobe was packed and ready to go. She just need someone with a camera and some skills…and that’s where I stepped in. And I’m really glad I did.
The drive was CRAZY cool…a little long…but definitely worth it. The sights were breathtaking. I’d never driven out to Palm Desert before and it really was a very interesting place. Lots of windy roads, breathtaking views coming down the 74, and palms, cacti, and rocks.
And Aimee was crazy cool! She had tons of wardrobe options and even picked a really cool park to shoot at too. We got some really great shots in, despite the weather being slightly overcast. But all in all, it was a great afternoon spent in the desert.
We’re planning some other cool shoots in the future…so look forward to seeing more of her in my portfolio. ;)
