Lumiere

Filed under: Photo Shoots — Aaron @ 10:42 am

There are those times when a photographer connects with the model and it is the coolest thing ever. It’s even cooler when it happens EVERY single time you shoot…and that’s the way it is with Ashley and me.

Not only is she beautiful and sexy as heck, but she’s also the cutest girl ever. We always have fun shooting…and our shoot yesterday was no exception. We did some fun, sexy lingerie at Downing Studios yesterday. We shot for a little over 4 hours…and the results were killer. I was playing around with some strobe lighting (inspired by my shoot the night before…I’d post pics, but they are 18+ unfortunately…). But I’m totally excited how these shots came out.

Ashley is also one of the biggest Padres’ fans, which I totally dig. ;) So I put the game on while we were shooting. Here’s us being a couple of dorks:

Anyway, I get to see her again in two weeks for our calendar shoot (she’s our Miss April), so stay tuned for that as well as some other killer ideas we have in the making as well. ;)

Off to get ready for another shoot now. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Party on.

Thank God I’m a country boy

Filed under: Photo Shoots — Aaron @ 12:57 am

Even though I’m a city slicker, I’m really just a small-town boy at heart…so when I get the chance to photograph an insanely hot small-town girl, I jump at the chance.

Lauren emailed me about a week ago and wanted to set up a shoot. I got a sweet, girl-next-door vibe from her immediately and was definitely excited to work with her. The only thing was, my schedule has been pretty crazy lately…so when a shoot this weekend fell through, I was really excited that Lauren could shoot with me.

I made the drive up to Murrieta this morning and met her at Starbucks. Over a Caramel Macciato and a green tea, we talked a little about ourselves, life, photography and then headed out on our afternoon adventure. And an adventure it was!

Lauren’s only been living in town for a couple months, so she had to do some exploring to find some good spots to shoot. We wanted to do some country lingerie and she found a really cool-looking barn…but it was on private property. Another spot we wanted to shoot was in a private, gated community. But we made due and found some other really cool spots. We even went back to that barn and did a little kamikaze photography…”ninja style,” if you will. We did most of our shooting in this run-down, abandoned house/farm/shack in the middle of nowhere. If you asked me, I couldn’t even begin to tell you where it was. And honestly, I don’t think Lauren could either. We found it after doing a little exploring and driving around town.

On a personal note, I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST with her. We clicked instantly and got some great shots. I realized REALLY fast that she was just as goofy as I was, if not more…so it was fun to be stupid with her. I love people I can be stupid with. :)

Okay, enough rambling…the photos (in no particular order):

There are more in the Picasa Gallery with more to be uploaded soon. And look forward to seeing more of Lauren as we have some exciting shoots planned for the future. She also owes me a bikini carwash…so she better pay up!! j.k. :)

I wish they all could be….

Filed under: General, Photo Shoots — Aaron @ 7:31 am

Good morning! Hope everyone had a fun, restful weekend like I did. It did rain a little on Saturday…which means I washed my car on Friday. Oh well…

So a few months back, I mentioned this SUPER COOL project that I would be working on…and this weekend officially kicked it off. And what a way to start!!!

This is Erika. Or our Miss September. ;)

That’s right. I am putting together a swimsuit calendar. After months of wanting to do something like this, I’m finally getting to. I’ve assembled some of the hottest and sweetest girls in San Diego for the project and we have some exciting things planned.

“We?” you might be asking? Well, not only is the calendar going to be hot, sexy, and classy (as only you can expect from the Aaron Riveroll brand), the project is for a good cause. I’ve teamed up with my buddy, Doug, and a couple other guys from the Point who walked last year in the Breast Cancer 3-day walk. To raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, we will be selling this awesome calendar…and all the proceeds will be going towards this great cause.

Exciting, huh? I thought so. I’ll give you more details as they come…but I want everyone to stay tuned and of course buy calendars. :) And now that you’ve had a little taste, here is more of Erika:

The shoot on Saturday was amazing. Erika is a smokin’ hot California girl from up north who is gearing up for graduation this year. Woohoo!! :) She is totally sweet, totally beautiful, and totally professional and amazing to work with. Despite some wind issues and our MUA not showing up, we created some great pictures and had a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to shooting with her again. I was also fortunate to have Brian and Flor at the shoot, who helped out tremendously! (It’s amazing the things you can get from people when you bribe them with burritos…I know I will do pretty much anything for a burrito. :) ) But it was great, as always, having a good team out there…and Flor got some great BTS shots:

And I took this one…but I really like it:

Anyway, it’s Monday now…the weather is crappy…and I’m at work. Things can only get better. :)

Oh, and a shout-out to my Mima, who is celebrating her birthday today. She’s 21+ today! Woohoo!!

Caffeine Fix

Filed under: Random — Aaron @ 12:04 pm

I am sitting in Starbucks…and I think I got here at exactly the right time…the line is almost out the door!

But I’m sitting here with my latte and sticking my nose in the air whilst enjoying the scenery. There are SOOOO many smoking hot ladies that come in here, it’s ridiculous. I don’t know if I have ever written about Starbucks as a place to meet girls, but it definitely should be. :)

Okay, back to my latte and surfing the web.

Last minute

Filed under: General, Photo Shoots — Aaron @ 1:19 pm

When I woke up yesterday morning, I had no idea I would be packing up my camera gear and driving 2 hours to do a photo shoot…but that’s what I did.

In my pursuit of Fact Finding Missions, I decided to make the drive to Palm Desert to photograph a lovely model we’ll call Aimee. Mostly, because that’s her name. The photographer she was scheduled to work with cancelled on her at the last minute and she was basically all dressed up with no where to go. She’s a cosmotologist, so her hair and makeup were all done up perfectly and her wardrobe was packed and ready to go. She just need someone with a camera and some skills…and that’s where I stepped in. And I’m really glad I did.

The drive was CRAZY cool…a little long…but definitely worth it. The sights were breathtaking. I’d never driven out to Palm Desert before and it really was a very interesting place. Lots of windy roads, breathtaking views coming down the 74, and palms, cacti, and rocks.

And Aimee was crazy cool! She had tons of wardrobe options and even picked a really cool park to shoot at too. We got some really great shots in, despite the weather being slightly overcast. But all in all, it was a great afternoon spent in the desert.

We’re planning some other cool shoots in the future…so look forward to seeing more of her in my portfolio. ;)

Bold moves

Filed under: Random — Aaron @ 8:55 am

…they happen everyday. And today, especially, ’cause they are making us all wear these stupid gay shirts (no offense to our homosexual brethren).

Here’s a shot of me and my shirt…sportin’ my mean face:
Me being bold
Yeah, I’m bold.

At least with 50-something other people wearing this dumb shirt, I don’t feel like such a loser.

Ha, maybe they should have put the word “LOSER” on the front of the shirt instead. It would be more appropriate.

The tightwad

Filed under: General, Random — Aaron @ 1:54 pm

It’s not that I’m cheap or anything like that…I’d like to think I’m frugal in most cases…

But when you’re driving 80 MPH on the freeway and have to break suddenly because someone dropped two cardboard boxes in the middle of the number three lane FILLED with white sports bottles with blue sipper tops…and the aforementioned bottles have spilled out of the boxes and all over the freeway…

Your first thought should really be, “slam on the brakes!” not, “Hmmm…can I get over to the shoulder and then dodge on-coming traffic to pick up a few of the bottles that aren’t smashed up?”

Chicks and cars

Filed under: Photo Shoots — Aaron @ 7:28 am

When I was younger, my brother and I used to watch the Dick Van Dyke show starring…Dick Van Dyke. We went through this Nick-at-Nite phase. Mork and Mindy was another favorite. But anyway, at the beginning of every show, Dick (sorry, I can’t giggle without saying his name…yes, I’m also 14 years old apparently), would swing open the front door and trip over this strangely-placed ottoman. It wasn’t until after a season or two that he learned to sidestep it. I hope that season comes for me.

Everytime I walk out to my car in my grandparents’ driveway wearing my Redsand cargo shorts, my bottom pocket gets snagged on my front license plate. I know this because I slightly tore the pocket the first time I did it. I was annoyed. Well, I did it again last night…tore my pocket even more. And yes, I’m still annoyed. I’m not sure if my car purposefully inches closer to the garage door in hopes of snagging my pocket…but nevertheless, my torn pockets and I will continue to be annoyed.

Wow, what I weekend I had. You know about and saw my pictures from Friday and Saturday with Deserae and Karissa…and yesterday I had more photographic adventures. I drove up to this industrial park in Vista and took part in a group shoot out. There were a few dozen models, photographers, and some of the sweetest bikes and cars. I’d never photographed models with cars before, but it was an absolute blast. The models were seriously SMOKING HOT and it was a lot of fun to go around shooting with the girls and the machines. We spent 5 hours shooting and I came away with over 1300 frames. I am going to be going through them for a while and adding pics to the gallery. Here are a few…

This is Laura…an absolute cutie and an amazing model.

And this is Ashley. The lights were sort of funky in the room we were shooting, but I think this is sort of artistic looking with the one light. And Ashley is gorgeous anyway. Amazing eyes.

I actually stopped in to the new Rancho Bernardo Hooters to check it out and maybe run into a Hooters girl I know that works there (she was not working, sadly). So I had some wings. And fried pickles too. Things just taste good fried…and dipped in cheese. But Ashley, coincidently, was there with her roommate (who also was at the shoot). They are from Temecula…but I got a chance to chat with Ashley a bit and might be shooting with them down the road.

I’m a goon and I don’t remember these girls’ names…but they are indeed beautiful and I’m sure their names will come to me. But it’s Monday and I’m sleepy and not all the way here yet:

Anyway, will definitely do one of these again. It was a lot of fun. Check back for more pictures in the Picasa Gallery.

**Edit**
Okay, so the hottie laying on the car is Amanda. She is definitely smokin’! And the gorgeous lady with the Ferrari is Kristy. I’m excited to say I’m setting up a shoot with her sometime this summer…so be looking out for some smoldering shots with her!
