Dude, I totally want some. :)
So this weekend was pretty much crazy and I’m ready for a nap. But I wouldn’t have traded a second of it. Here’s how it all went down…
Friday night, I hit up Hooters with Doug. We got there just in time for happy hour, so we indulged in fried pickles (my first time…) and some nachos. There is nothing like fried food and cheese sauce. Mmmm… Also got to meet Shayln, so that was pretty cool. After Hooters, Doug and I walked to Cabo Cantina in PB and had a few more rather large beverages. It was pretty crazy there…definitely a good time.
Saturday morning, I woke up early and headed out to Windansea. I ended up being out there pretty much all day and got some sun…even though the weather report said there was a 40% chance of rain. 40% my butt. The water was so blue and it was one of the most gorgeous days I have seen. A little on the chilly side, but not by much. I shot two gorgeous girls, Courtney and Mari, and had a great morning shoot. The girls were even asked by another photographer if they would pose with some retired military dudes. It’s tough being so ridiculously good looking.
The afternoon session was just as crazy fun as I was shooting Heather, Liz, and Marisa…who are all pretty much the coolest girls ever. We did a wham-bam-thank you ma’am shoot since we pretty much knew what we wanted. I think the shots came out pretty good…my only complaint was the lighting and I think that was pretty much me…well, me and God. But we got some good shots anyway. After the beach, the girls took me out for my birthday to Cabo Cantina for lunch and drinks and I had a great time chilling with them.
Sunday morning was a little chilly…but it was gorgeous out in Alpine where my next shoot was. I photographed Lauren, a beautiful model whom I’ve worked with before. We shot at this gorgeous lake and it was pretty much one of the prettiest places I’ve been to. We shot a few different looks and got some good ones in. Her friend, David, was there and I snapped a few of him for his portfolio as well.
The afternoon was a little colder. I was going to stop for lunch, but there was no time…I grabbed some Craisins and headed out to Windansea for my fourth and final shoot of the weekend. Let me just say I hate the 52 ramp from the 15. Not only do they not post the signs far enough away to warn you it’s coming up, but I just miss the exit 1 out of 5 times. I think this time I missed it because I was thinking about ways to get out of work. :) But anyway…I got there a little late, but that was okay since one of the girls ran out of gas and was running late too. I sat on a rock and watched the waves until Heather showed up for moral support and we pretty much chilled for 40 minutes until the other girls showed. I shot with Stevie, Shayln, and Emilie and the shoot rocked, despite how cold it was. Love those girls, though. It was my first time shooting with Emilie and Shayln and they are pretty cool girls…and this was my fourth time with Stevie…so shooting with her was like breathing…we don’t even have to think about it anymore, we just go at it and it works. She’s an awesome model and a REALLY cool chick. Anyway, after the shoot, the sun started coming up…which pretty much sucked for us…but we got some great shots in. The girls and I headed to Hooters since Stevie was working and we all had a late lunch. Doug met up with us too and we had our fill of fried stuff and cheese. Can’t go wrong with that.
Anyway, I’m sore, exhausted, and got a TON of stuff to get done in a little amount of time. I was multitasking like crazy last night getting photo disks ready and editing the wedding (which is going amazingly, I might add…). But this was definitely a kick-ass weekend.
Anyway, it’s going to be another busy week, what-with turning 28 and all and all the other stuff that’s happening. But I’ll be sure to keep you posted. Oh, and I’ll be posting pictures from the weekend too when I get around to it. Stay tuned for that as well!
