So I was admiring the work that is my blog and was noticing one of the sidebar news items from the Union Trib. It talked about how the latest email phishing scam craze was regarding tax refunds and the IRS. I blogged about this a while back, but I still think it’s funny that people actually think the IRS would try and track them down to give them money. It’s a nice poetic Robin Hood-esque thought…but seriously, this is the IRS. These are the people that suck all the zeros out of your paychecks and the ones who suck even more every April. It’s highly doubtful they would be giving YOU money. There, I’ve said my piece.

So here I am at work, really not wanting to be here on a Monday. But even worse than it being Monday is the fact that tomorrow is our nation’s birthday, and a bank holiday. The weekend was such a tease. It’s like, “you have two days off, but then you have to come in to work…but that’s okay, because you have Tuesday off.” Why not just give us four days off? I personally think that would be better.

And I would hardly call this weekend a restful one. Saturday, I woke up before the rooster and took my grandparents to the hospital. My grandpa was scheduled to have surgery on his arm. Why? Well, because he was being dumb and went outside to water the lawn, knowing full well that he shouldn’t be. And then he tripped and fell and hurt his arm. So yeah, long story short, that landed him in the hospital…so my morning was spent there…then I had a photo shoot in the afternoon, which was actually a lot of fun. Cute model with a great personality…we shot at Point Loma yet again with some casual shots and then some swimsuit down on the beach. After the shoot, Brian and I met up with Flor, Michelle, and some other friends at Wine Steals in Hillcrest. Nice little spot. We grabbed some drinks down the road and a late dinner at Taste of Italy.

Sunday was spent sleeping in…then a photo shoot downtown at Doug’s place. I’m still amazed at how great his place is for shoots. We had some great light coming in later in the shoot and I was able to get some really nice shots. I’ll post some later today.

It was Sir Mounts’ birthday, so we took him out to dinner at Ruby’s and then watched Superman Returns. Seriously, great flick. It brought me back to my younger days when I wanted to be Superman, draping a towel around my shoulders and jumping off the stairs pretending I could fly. I never could. But it was fun to try. The movie was really, really good and well done. I highly recommend it.

Well, I’m going to try and get something done today. I don’t think there’s much to do, but hopefully the day will go fast. To those of you who have the day off today, two words: “You suck.”

Tune in later for pics and stuff. :)
