This week, I’ve decided to have two crushes of the week, since I wasn’t able to write much last week. This week, we have two incredibly cute ladies that I would like to devote a post to…
Kellie Pickler: American Idol Cutie
I mentioned Kellie in a previous post about how she was definitely one of my favorites in this season’s competition. But seriously, who would have guessed that she’s so darn adorable?! And no, folks, it’s not just the looks-factor here…although, she is absolutely beautiful. No, I think the attraction comes from the genuine sweetness that just radiates from her. For instance, last night, she was talking about her California experiences. Her recounting of her dinner, which consisted of salad and calamari, was told with this innocence and a southern accent that would make any man melt. I know I went ga-ga…and I don’t go ga-ga very often.
Wait, who am I kidding??
But then she got up on stage and sang Bonnie Raitt’s Somthing To Talk About, which in my opinion was the perfect song for her voice. Fantastic.
So Kellie gets my vote any day of the week Idol is on…and every other day too. She can sing for me any time.
Sasha Cohen: American Ice Cutie
In the spirit of the Olympics (which I didn’t watch a lick of this year), I thought I would choose a girl that was not only cute, but someone who was a true champion. To be honest, there were a lot of really cute female athletes competing in this year’s Winter Olympics, so it was hard to choose just one girl. If I had my way (and my dad’s), I would have chosen the entire Women’s Curling Team. But alas, I can only choose a select few; and Sasha grabbed my attention last week as a true competitor.
Never mind that she fell, twice, during the first moments of her short program last week. But I was sitting in Jack in the Box, eating my Ciabatta Burger and reading the newspaper, and her picture was on the front page. She was standing on the podium with the other winners, looking very cute examining her silver medal. She gave it her all. Like every other athlete, I have a great deal of respect for Olympians. To be in the Olympics is to want to win. It takes a great deal of determination, discipline, passion, and hard work to even compete. I think that’s why I admire athletes like Sasha Cohen; they devote their lives to the sport and to being the best. To achieving their goal and making their dreams come true. Not only that, but Sasha looks good doing it. ;) It’s mesmerizing to watch her gracefully glide across the frozen water…almost like watching a little flame dance on a wick.
She also seems really sweet in the interviews she’s given as well as stuff I’ve read on her site. I look forward to seeing more of her in the future.
No, not like that…get your mind out of the gutter.
