Okay, this is totally nutty…I remember laying in bed at around 1am, but I don’t remember much else. I think I lost count of the sheep. Anyway, I remember the gentle whirring of my multiple hard drives and all of the glowing green LEDs throughout the room suddenly cease to exist…and even though the room was dark to begin with, it seemed a little bit darker. I fumbled for my flashlight and grabbed my cell phone, trying to set my alarm in the fuzzy daze I was in. Yes, the electricity went out, inexplicably.
Luckilly, I woke up with enough time to do all my morning things AND pick up a mocha from Starbucks. Mmmm. And I didn’t have to sing today! Although, I did help Dana because she was late and didn’t know the words to The Boy From Ipanema.
Where the hell is Ipanema anyway?
When you hear the first lines of the song, you would think they were talking about me…
“Tall and tan and young and handsome…”
Doesn’t anyone use commas anymore?
Alright, well, I am sneaking this post during training, so to avoid the stinkeye, I’m going to leave you now and continue with my diligent book highlighting and daydreaming and thinking about what I’m going to have for lunch. :)
Hmm lunch… maybe I’ll join you.
I think Ipanema is in in Brazil…that’s my grand contribution for today.
Oh, I don’t think the “G.O.L” thing went over that well on Saturday night–not that much turnout. I was glad to help out though!
One more thing…I just noticed the time my previous comment posted and it’s wrong. Did your website forget to set its clock back? :)
Ipanema is a beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This was the hometown of Antonio Jobim who wrote the song.
