Our last day in Sac was pretty great…

I, of course, woke up at the butt crack of dawn to take Brian to the bowling alley…then I headed home, showered, and cleaned up around the house. I couldn’t just sit there on my butt doing nothing, right? Megs and Heather headed out to hot yoga, so I chilled watching some stupid program on TV and trying to de-virus Megan’s laptop. It took a while, but I finally got it. What can I say, I’m good with my hands. :)

At about 10:40, Rebecca comes home from church and informs me that I’m going to Waffle Barn. Apparently Megan has briefed her on my love for waffles. So we drive over and meet Matt, who has gallantly secured us a place in line. Apparently, old people love their waffles on Sunday mornings.

Dude, these waffles were kicking amazing. Mine had whipped cream and apple topping. But you could get just about anything on your waffle. Mmmm. :) Megs and Heather joined us later for some waffle action as well. I couldn’t help but smile because while we were stuffing our faces with waffles, the convo revolved around health food and exercise. It’s a good thing I don’t care about that. lol.

Across town, Brian was still bowling strong.

After breakfast, we went back to the house where Megan indulged in an extra long shower. I continued the virus cleanup.

Post-shower and smelling like girl (ahhh!), Megan was ready…so we went to CostCo (which is sort of like heaven) and got some pictures printed. And then Brian called. He was finally cut. Finishing about 15th place, he was jazzed that he made it so far; and quite frankly, so were we. So jazzed in fact, that while Brian visited with Poindexter Bueler, Megs and I perused the cheese at Whole Foods. I’ve never met a cheese I didn’t like. After cheese shopping, we “attempted” to get to the IHOP across the street from the bowling center. I say “attempted” because Megan got us lost. We ascertained that it was a combination of my overwhelming machismo and the cheese that got her all flustered and confused. It happens.

After driving in a big circle, we picked Brian up and headed back home. Poindexter’s hair was quite interesting. :) And speaking of interesting, the most random series of events transpired…

Heather was preparing a waxing session for Rebecca, so we watched an actual esthetician do her thing. Also checked out a a phat stereo and some girls shake their tooshies (yes, Megan was one of those girls). And we also got to see Megs’s backyard for the first time…along with her (yeah, pathetic since she’s lived there for two months and was seeing it for the first time too. :) )

And finally, it was time to go. It was the most difficult goodbye I’ve had in a long time. I didn’t want to leave. But we finally dragged ourselves out to the car and headed home. Now, those of you who know me, I’ve always said I would never leave San Diego…but for a few seconds there, I contemplated the move. Interesting…

The ride home was…eventful. You all know about our traffic woes later in the drive and our concurring frustration. But the drive earlier in the day was quite fun. We filled the first part of our trip talking about our experience and the awesome time we had. All the while, Megan was texting me, which made it all the more difficult to continue driving south. I think I had 32 messages on my phone at one point, ALL from her (although, I think a few were from earlier in the week). At one point, I was thinking about my good friend, Simone; she left for Rome today, actually, so I gave her a call to wish her bon voyage and catch up a bit. I passed the phone to Brian for a bit and then she and I got a chance to catch up. She had the sniffles, but she was so excited for the trip. I’m so excited for her too. Who wouldn’t be excited about gelato? :) So I wish her well on this endeavor. And our conversation ate up a good portion of the drive. :)

The rest of the trip involved watching the video of the waxing session, stuffing our faces with tacos, and singing along to Les Mis (which is interesting if you don’t know all the words).

Both Brian and myself have decided that it will be really hard to top this Fact Finding Mission…but we will be back to party up north soon. Until next time…that’s all folks.

I finally got in. I had lunch at In-and-Out today for the first time since I have been working in Mission Valley. Woohoo. That is cause to celebrate. Seriously, this is like the busiest In-and-Out in the entire world. Well, maybe not. But it’s the busiest one I’ve ever seen, especially during lunch. You can’t [...]

You can’t even get in the drivethru because the line is out of the parking lot. But I ate there today. And it was good. Just like it is every other time I go there. It felt like finally I was cool enough to be let in the club. Like today, I knew the secret code word. But in reality, it was just because there were open parking spaces.

Today was particularly interesting…

1) I saw a woman who looked like Poindexter Bueler. However, she looked more masculine.

2) I learned that In-and-Out fries are okay by themselves…but they taste funny with ketchup. And they are never good after sitting around for more than 30 minutes.

3) I think Mick Fleetwood walked in, with a big humongous stain on the front of his shirt.

And those are the things I learned today. Yesterday was a whole different adventure. I bought a sandwich at Food 4 Less…and it was the biggest sandwich I think I have ever consumed all by myself.
Big Sandwich

Just goes to show you can have lunch for under 5 bucks and be stuffed. :)

I’ve been through a series of unfortunate events in the last 12 hours. Lemony Snicket. For one, I cut myself shaving this morning. Not a pleasant experience.

But I also learned something about myself; I learned why I am so closed sometimes. The reason? It’s better to keep things to yourself. In a moment of pure vunerability and stupidity, you can open your mouth and say things that, well, maybe you should or shouldn’t say. I recently had such a moment. I probably shouldn’t have said anything; but sometimes we don’t think with our heads and emotion gets the better of us. What can I say? I’m a stupid guy.

But at least I’m used to it.

Laguna Beach wasn’t the only drama last night. *sigh*

There’s a song I really like by Bebo Norman called Disappear. The first line in the song is exactly what I’m feeling right now:

On a day like this I want to crawl beneath a rock…A million miles from the world…
