Back from Sac
Well, it’s a little after 2 am, and I just arrived back home about 15 minutes ago. I’ve unloaded my car and am ready to get to bed (since there is work in the morning.) But we are back , safe and sound.
I’ll write more on our last day tomorrow (later today), but I’ll give you the Reader’s Digest version of why it took so freakin’ long to get home…we were making awesome time, amazingly wonderful time back and were scheduled to be in our toasty, warm beds by 11pm. However, that did not happen. We made a stop in L.A. to switch drivers and with Brian behind the wheel, we continued on…but we were stopped on the freeway in the O.C. Actually, everyone was stopped. All lanes of traffic, including the HOV lanes. Apparently, there was a 3-car accident ahead. Not sure if there were any fatalities, but this was at about 10pm. The accident was at 8pm. But it gets better, friends…we were stuck in traffic for an hour and twenty minutes. ONE HOUR and TWENTY MINUTES!! That’s eighty minutes of my life I will never get back. We drove about a mile and were highly agitated at this point. And some moron in our lane in front of us had a little collision, so they thought it was necessary to get out of their cars and exchange information IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY! Who does that?? Okay, enough ranting…needless to say, we were a little delayed. And tired. And grumpy.
But what made it slightly better was thinking about the cool weekend we had. :) I’ll write more later. That’s it for now. Good night!
