I’ve been so busy lately, I don’t know whether I’m coming or going. But in the last few minutes of work, as I was putting away my pens, pencils, and Post-Its, I realized how much I love my job. Despite the stupid people that call and email me every moment of everyday with their incessant requests for “rushes” (if I hear that word one more time!!), or their stupid long-winded questions (do I really have to be here for this conversation that you’re having with yourself, or do you just like to hear your own voice?), there is a good side to everything. In the quiet aftermath of the day, with the gentle hum of the air conditioner and the purring of my fan in the background, I can take a breath and realize what makes this job worthwhile…

The office products. Specifically, the Post-Its. They rock my world.

And now, I’m off to see the Padres win tonight. See you later.

The funniest thing happened to me today. I was driving to my grandparents’ house and I pulled up to a stoplight at 54th and Krenning. It was a beautiful day and my sunroof and windows were open. I didn’t think anything of it as I approached the intersection, but there was a rather large black woman standing on the corner. As I pulled to a stop, she walked up to my passenger side window and with a toothless grin, smiled and asked for a ride. Now, Common Sense and my grandma have always told me never to give rides to strangers. So I needless to say, I didn’t give her a ride. I told her I was almost home; which I was, so I wasn’t lying. So she got all scared for a second and then asked, “Are you dating?”

For those of you not in the know regarding ghetto fabulous lingo, “to date” is to hook up with a, uh, hooker. The term “working” means a girl is an “on-duty” prostitute. So now that you are up to date, I continue…

So she asked if I was dating, and I told her “no.” And that wasn’t a lie either…if she only knew how pathetic my dating life was. :)

Now let me just put this out there…I’m not pathetic enough to pay for a hooker. I’m pathetic, just not that pathetic. I would like to think I can get my own girls. But I mean, jeez, why couldn’t it have been a good looking girl? Let me just tell you, life is never like the movies.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again; there’s just not enough time. Not enough minutes in an hour, not enough hours in a day, not enough days in the week. Work is so crazy, if I just had a few more hours to finish the things that I needed to get done … [...]

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again; there’s just not enough time. Not enough minutes in an hour, not enough hours in a day, not enough days in the week. Work is so crazy, if I just had a few more hours to finish the things that I needed to get done …

This weekend is already half gone, and I have an done a fraction of the things that I wanted to. Such is life …

I had planned on going into work today, but that didn’t happen. I might try for tomorrow. We’ll see. I have finished the introduction for Fact-finding Missions: The Series. This should be a fun little venture for Nice Guy Society, Inc. I think I might start on episode one in just a few minutes. Brian and myself have started the replication of the Village Church program; I was really disappointed with how long this took and some of the little technical glitches. This one set me back, which has pushed back a lot of the other projects I have on my plate. But hopefully I can catch up.

I don’t know if any of you have brothers and sisters; but I was blessed with two. One of each, if you will. When you’re growing up, you never really see them in a professional capacity. I guess you’re just too busy with a growing up. But I must say, I’m impressed. My brother was having problems with his car, so my dad and I drove up to lend him a hand and a few bucks. Now, my brother is not the “school type,” which is okay by me. Some people are just too creative to be stuck in a classroom all day long. So, he decided to go into retail and work at a local grocery store. Now, I had never seen my brother work a day in his life … when we were growing up, he was too young to work. These days, he’s a checker/cashier. “Paper/plastic?” The whole bit. It was weird to see my brother ringing up groceries and helping customers. That kid worked that keypad like he had been doing it for years. He bagged like a professional; just like people that bag my groceries when I go to the store. Very impressive. I know which you may be thinking. You may be thinking, “So what? It’s just a job.” That’s okay. It is just a job. But like a proud sibling at school play, I won’t hesitate to turn around and tell you, “That’s my brother up there.” My sister is another one … although she is pursuing her education now, which is even more impressive than actually working, there was a time she worked in food-service. That is one line of work I would never go into. Those people work so hard, it’s not even funny. And I remember the first time I visited my sister at work. She was carrying like five or six plates of food all at once, just like you see people at restaurants doing. It was really cool. Impressive.

I met with a lady on Thursday regarding a job. We’ll see how that goes. I looked good; wore my suit. I was witty and friendly. She seemed a little tired, but it was understandable because was her last interview of the day. We’ll see what happens …

Well, I must get back to work. More later.

As cheesy and Office Space-esque as it sounds, I am the Union Bank CAM employee of the month for August. What does this mean? Well, it means I won’t have to park in “the pit” for the next 30 days. That’s right, I have my very own parking space. :) Go me.

I’m such a chick. I’ll admit it. I’ll admit that an episode of ER made me cry. I’m balling my eyes out. What’s wrong with that? *sniff*
