How random is this…I stumbled upon this Wikipedia article on Caedmon’s Call. Ever wonder who Caedmon is? Need to keep up with who’s doing what and what’s-his-name? Check it out. And ironically, Cliff Young is also an award-winning manufacturer of contemporary furniture and decorative accessories. :)

I love how we make these little comparisons. For instance, how girls are like cars. (Trust me, guys can go a little nuts with the girl/car references). And they are all true, too. Well, most of them anyway. But seriously, girls are like a lot of things…most recently, I’ve discovered girls are like jobs. You [...]

You are required to go through a lengthy interview process (called “dating”) where your goal is to impress. You pull out all your best moves, threads, and lines in hopes of scoring the gig (in the dating world, the job title is “boyfriend.”) But even before you get the interview, there is an application process where the weak, unqualified applicants are weeded out. So you’re lucky if you even make the cut. And even more applicable to my situation, companies that I’ve never heard of or have any desire to work for give me job offers…yet the ones I actually apply for never even call me. How close to reality.

Oh, and once you get the job, you pull all sorts of late nights and OT just trying to keep the job. Okay, back to work I go.

Well folks, it’s been awhile since I’ve had time to write; it’s been one gigantic whirlwind of activity. Well, not really. But that’s what I’d like to think. So, where do I start? Well folks, it’s been awhile since I’ve had time to write; it’s been one gigantic whirlwind of activity. Well, not really. But that’s what I’d like to think. So, where do I start?

Caedmon’s Call was tonight at Maranatha. I wasn’t going to go at first (if you can believe that), but at the last minute I decided to go. It was an awesome concert! Danielle was home with their new kid, since it seems a lot of the band members have been having babies. The new girl was pretty good, though. Cute, too. I just have to say that Josh Moore rocks the organ. Cliff is good too, but we already know that. I also have to say the more I listen to Andy Osenga, the more and more I like him. I think I’m going to track down one of his CD’s since I wasn’t able to pick one of tonight. They opened tonight’s set with Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes and they did a bunch of stuff off of Share The Well and a good mix of old tunes as well. I enjoy Andy’s parade song as well as the talent show section. Trip Wamsley’s solo on the bass was also totally awesome. Good times were had; even ran into friend of mine who I hadn’t seen in several years.

Also, making some progress on the business end. I just completed the editing for my latest challenge, the Festival Of Hymns program. There were a few stumbling blocks as far as the audio goes. But I think we came out okay. I’m just happy that it’s almost finished and we can close out another project. I have about four videos in my queue just waiting to be edited. Not to mention the renovation of our new corporate site. :)

Also working on expanding my photography portfolio. I definitely have some things to work on, but I also see a lot of progress. Last week, I had scheduled a shoot with a model I had never met before. A very beautiful young woman. However due to illness, she had to cancel. But I managed to sneak in another shoot with a girl from work and with our good friend, Deanna. I’m really pleased with the way the photos came out; I’ll post some in the gallery when I get some time. I’ll be scheduling some more shoots in the future. Practice makes perfect.

For the past week, I don’t think I’ve left work before 7:00. We’re so busy, it is not even funny. So I must leave you in order to get the necessary sleep I will require. Until next time, friends.

Why is it that the only places open after 11:00 p.m. are bars, strip joints, and Mexican food restaurants? Could it be that my people have a strong work ethic that drives their productivity into the late-night hours? Or is it that horny, drunk people have to eat too? Maybe it’s a little of both [...]

On my way home tonight, I noticed four Mexican joints on University Avenue that were still open. Four!! It made me think: “Wow, my peeps are sure burning the midnight oil.” It also made me think of how much I wanted a California burrito.

The boys of NGS East took in a Padres game last night. Unfortunately, we lost. But we got our Cracker Jacks, peanuts, and beer fix. Also had a hearty meal at BJ’s in Grossmont. Good times. Check out the rest of the photos.
