Fact Finding Mission: Los Angeles, 2005
Well, since I have some time, I thought I would share with you the events of our latest fact-finding mission …
Well, since I have some time, I thought I would share with you the events of our latest fact-finding mission …
Katie and Eric are now married. Brian and I filmed the wedding festivities yesterday; and I must say, it was a very nice day. We started by filming the “getting ready” stuff and shot the ceremony and reception as well.
For those of you with your mind in the gutter, you’re probably thinking the obvious correlation between the title of this post and getting married. But it actually has nothing to do that.
Fellow Nice Guy, Sir Brian Mounts, announced good words regarding a certain young lady this evening. And even Mr. Harrison Von-Rosenberger, III, has expressed good remarks about a young lady he has had his eye on. What’s this all mean? Well, it just means that once a while, you find someone who complements you just as much as you complement them. Once in a while, it works out. It’s good to hear all these stories and good words, because it reminds you that sometimes you get lucky.
Well, it is hump day … and to be honest, I haven’t been as productive this week as I would’ve liked. But I have gotten some work done and relaxed a little bit at the same time.
Had a smooth, relaxing time last night and played some games with Leigh and the boys. If anything, I am a good loser (but most of you probably already knew I was a loser). Nothing like getting your butt kicked at Yahtzee and UNO. The moon was pretty cool lookin’ too…

Today was a day-shift right along with the man, Dan. Met the cute day-shift dispatchers and arrested a dude with a warrant. All in all, a productive afternoon I must say.
Now, back to work …

Bethany Dillon’s latest, Imagination, comes out August 16. I’ve already pre-ordered mine. :)
And for those of you wanting to pre-order an autographed copy, check out GrassrootsMusic.com. You can also pick up Switchfoot’s newest, Nothing is Sound (Sept. 13) and Casting Crowns’ Lifesong (Aug 23).
Well, since I have time to share things this week, I thought that I would…
A week ago, Brian and I shot Eric and Katie’s story of how they met, as they are getting married this weekend. Hope to get to that video this week…but the wedding should be real nice.
Here are some behind-the-scenes photos:

Well folks, you are looking at a free man. This must be how an escaped convict feels after hopping the penitentiary wall. I am on vacation all next week…and it feels amazing. I went to bed last night knowing that I had absolutely nothing to do for the next nine days…and it was great. :)
Last night Danny, his brother Greg, and I endulged in some steaks and mashed potatoes; a dudes’ night. Quality time.
Today, after a few errands at home, Danny and I hit up BJ’s in Grossmont Center. Good pizza, root beer, and a great place to meet girls (be looking for an update to the NGS blog soon!). But this is where we met Allie. Allie was our waitress; she was cute, sweet, and really interesting. She made Danny blush, which usually never happens. But Danny posed a question to her that was a catalyst for something I have never actually witnessed before: “How many times have guys asked for your number while at work?” Her response was equally shocking. She said she had never been asked out or anything while working. That was a surprise. She also said that chicks hit on the guy waiters more often and leave their numbers with them. That was also a surprise. But Danny asked what she would do if he were to ask or give his number to her, and she replied, “…as long as it’s not long distance.” Danny’s face turned bright red and she got a little flustered too, but it was a cute sort of flustered. Danny, not being one to pick up on the subtle nuances, asked bold faced if she was joking or serious (because he just had to know). And playfully, she replied “I’m serious; I have to pay my own cell phone bill.”
So Danny, smoothly, wrote his number on a piece of paper, tipped well, and signed the receipt. I, of course, encouraged and told him what to write. I’m smooth like that too. So now, the ball is in her court. We’ll see what happens. If anything, it was good pizza.
So now, my vacation continues. Woo hoo.
Chrissy Russo, you are so stinking cool. :) I actually like bananas, so it was sad for me to see them go. It was a good effort on your part. Any girl that will go through great lengths to save a bunch of bananas is alright in my book.

This morning, she hopped on a plane with her brother and flew from Ohio to San Diego.
Tonight, she shared, sang, and blessed me and countless others. It was just her and a guitar…and it was awesome.
Worship tonight at Maranatha was really cool. Great message from Pastor Ray, awesome worship lead by the praise team, and of course an awesome time with Bethany Dillon. She is just too super-cool for words. Her voice is amazing, her guitar-playing as equally amazing (and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous)…but she’s just an amazing young woman, with an amazing talent and a love for God that just radiates from her. She shared a little in between her songs, which was really cool. Spoke to me in many ways. And her music was just awesome to listen to live. Halfway through her set, she stops and realizes she’s stuck her gum on the end of her guitar’s neck…and then proceeds to tell us about it. Gross, but endearing. I was hoping to meet her, since I was there early and got to listen to her sound check, but didn’t have a chance. Maybe next time. She did walk past me, though.
Now I know how other people feel when the walk past me…just inches away from greatness. :)

Guys and gals…Bethany Dillion is playing at Maranatha tonight. I’m going to check it out…hope to see you there.
Buster likes to lick the water that drips from the faucet in the bathtub. Here he is, caught redhanded. :)

I think I know how Houdini felt. Ever feel like you were in a Chinese torture chamber, the water rising to the top, with absolutely no way out?
My ears are throbbing, my eyes are watering, my ears are ringing.
There is this lady who is training a new guy…but she seriously has got the biggest mouth. She’s giving me a headache. If only I had a gun. Heck, I’d settle for a pile of small pebbles I could chuck at her…anything that would shut her trap.
“Hey lady, why don’t you tune it down just a couple decibels??”
Well folks, it’s almost 2am and I’m still up…what’s up with that? Well, ER started a little late. Anyway, I’ve had a productive, exciting weekend, so I suppose I’m still winding down.
This week was a long one…work wise, that is. I’m glad that I am on vacation in a week…I deserve 5 days off, don’t you think? :) But after the long week, a few of us from work hit up 5th Quarter in the Gaslamp for happy hour and then headed to the Pads game. The Friars, unfortunately, had a rough night against the Sox…but it was still a good time and a good night for a game. After the game, Brian and I embarked on a filming expedition of our own and began shooting his second Survivor Application Video. However, it wasn’t without it’s share of hiccups. We had planned on going in one direction with the shoot…but that, of course, was three weeks ago. With the due date drawing near, we had to change our plan and go another way. But even that didn’t work out because it felt a little lame. So we finally decided on a 20-questions type of format in the James Lipton/Inside The Actor’s Studio-esque style. With the help of our good friend and honorary nice guy Josh Saddler, we shot the thing and were done by two.
Saturday, Brian and I met with our good friend, Sarah Gates, and discussed some projects we will be working on together. It’s really exciting and it’s gonna be a heck of a lot of fun. Can’t wait. She’s a cool chick. We talked shop and stuffed our faces at California Pizza Kitchen and then drooled over all the gadgets, computers, and cameras at the Apple Store. I had to take a cold shower afterwards.
But I didn’t. Instead, Brian and I edited the final version of his Survivor movie and schmoozed a bit with Emac, who was down. Good to see that guy, since I haven’t seen him in about a million years.
Today was a lazy, hazy, crazy day of summer which involved kicking back with my pop and the grandparents, a few errands, a little shopping, and washing my car. I am a nerd, but I’m stoked because Dragnet 1967 is finally out on DVD…and it’s sweeeet! I’ve been waiting for this for a while (I used to watch the show on Nick at Nite) and it’s finally here. Jack Webb is the man. Soon to come out from Universal is Adam-12 (another favorite of mine) and Emergency. It’s gonna be rad.
Alright party animals, gotta get to bed…another day, another dollar. Late.
This guy spent the day with me. I think he might apply as an underwriting assistant (Lord knows why.)

I ask a lot of questions. Just ask my dad, who is usually the lucky one that gets to answer them. I love finding out stuff…it’s that “stuff” that’s really interesting to me. And usually, one question leads right to another…and of course another…and another.
Which is why Wikipedia is so stinking cool. You can look up something and then look up something else; all with links to other stuff. It’s like taking the web and an encyclopedia and smooshing them together. It’s great.
Now, it does get a lot of flack, because anyone (and I mean, anyone) can add to and edit the articles. But that’s what makes it so great…everyone sort of contributing their two cents to the betterment of mankind.
I take everything with a grain of salt anyway…but at least this way, my dad can have a mini-vacation from the questions. Doesn’t mean I’ll still ask, though.
For those of you who have not been fortunate enough to meet Buster, I gotta tell you…he’s a pretty cool cat. Check out this funny video.
