Email has been scarce this week, and I’m not sure why. Even the number of forwards, junk mail, and stuff I subscribe to has been down. I recently lost an email buddy, but even if that has something to do with it, it’s highly doubftul.

I did, however get an email with the subject line “Now you can be more popular with women.” Not sure what that’s all about, but I’m willing to find out so I can be popular with women. I wonder what could make me more popular with women?? And why would a random stranger want to help me be more popular with women??

Oh. Nevermind.

I’m not a big change guy. I don’t like it. So needless to say, it was a little out of my character to continue listening to 100.7 yesterday past 10:00am when they announced that their next BIG thing was a format change and a new name. No more Star 100.7…it’s now Jack FM; with a new attitude and a “play anything” format. The change has been met with bad reviews from listeners in and out of the county, including myself.

What bugs me the most is the loss of the personalities with personality, Anita, Greg & Jen (Jen apparently is the only person that has been let go, Anita has been reassigned and Greg is supposedly still on to do something that is yet-to-be-determined). I didn’t like Star repetition at times, but at least they played good music. I gave Jack a listen for a bit yesterday morning and then on the way home (hoping that Greg and Jen would be there), yet all that was there was some old pop hits (I’m using the word “hits” loosely) and a cold, dark announcer (who doesn’t even announce the songs being played). The DJ’s are what made Star 100.7, and I often tuned to Greg and Jen’s afternoon show on my drive home for a few laughs and some tunes. I’m glad they are keeping Jeff and Jer, which is the ONLY reason I would continue listening to 100.7…but that’s only in the mornings. What about the rest of the day? Let’s just hope the station doesn’t depend on me to listen to it…because this is one listener who should have followed his instincts yesterday at 10:01am…and changed the radio station. Hit the road, Jack.
