Had a nice, low key weekend … so what else is new? It was nice, though. Beautiful weather, although I didn’t make it out to the beach this weekend. Maybe next weekend. Got to do a little bit of recording, which haven’t been able to do in a while. There’s just something about chilling in my room and playing my guitar. It was nice to have the place to myself.

Saw a little bit of action on my way to the grandparents’ house today. While I was on the freeway, I happened to have my police scanner on and heard some street names that I recognized. So, I pulled out my camera and drove over to the gas station on Euclid where stuff was going down. It was on the very route I usually take to my grandparents’ house anyway. The police had observed a stolen car with four people inside … and in situations like this, they do what is called a “Hot Stop,” or a felony stop. What usually happens is each person is pulled out of the vehicle at gunpoint and then the vehicle is secured, making sure there are no weapons involved. This of course is for officer safety … I mean seriously, who wants to get shot?

As I approached the intersection when the gas station was, police had already blocked every street leading to the gas station. I had an excellent vantage point from where my car was stopped, so I was able to snap a few pictures of the officers taking two of the suspects into custody. All in all, the whole thing lasted about 10 minutes, and without any major incident.
