Alexander Graham BellIt’s so amazing the things you can do with the telephone now-a-days. For instance, you can be in your car, or in a public restroom, or in an airport, or in a park and still be easily accessible. People can still call you. And you can still call them. Sort of a funny feeling. Cell phones are so common place that we sort of take them for granted. But taking a call whilst your sitting in the john is quite an experience. Not that I’ve ever done that before. But finally, we can be more productive. It’s not like we can’t be more productive already if we are in the bathroom, right?

But last night, I made my very first international call…to wish Katrin a happy birthday…all the way in France. Here I was, sitting in a room in California at 10 at night talking to a girl just waking up in France at 7 in the morning. How cool is that? Technology bringing us closer together. It was good to talk for a bit…I contemplated singing Happy Birthday, but I decided to save it for a time when I wouldn’t wake the neighbors in my classically trained, operatic voice. My voice is very powerful. And gorgeous. But it was great to talk to Katrin, as always.

Caedmon’s tonight!!
